Come Inside, It's Fun Inside

The demo began on our new house, which means two things:
1.  There is no going back
2.  It's going to get worse before it gets better

The pictures on the top shelf are the original renderings of the house from 1959.  Lots of fun, but lots to plan!

New House

We closed on our new house on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at noon.  We reside on Autumn Court.  I think for a girl named Summer that's pretty cool!

Brandon deserves all the credit!  He made sacrifices and purchased our family a house that we are proud to call home.  We plan to take three to four months to redesign and be in before Christmas.  Are those famous last words or what?

No kidding, we were at the house no less than five minutes when the boys had to scope out their "pee-pee corner."  If you have boys then read no further because you know, but all boys have a designated place in the backyard where they can go pee-pee without notice or concern.  It's just a fact.  We now have ours, so come on over!

There Were Three in the Bed

Now, all three are in one bed.  That is, until the wee hours of the morning when Adam comes into ours.

And, make note of the alligator pillow pet and TCU snuggie!  Unlike silly bands that were so last year!

Baby Bed

Poor Ryan.  The kid is 97% in height and weight and has slept in a toddler bed for years.  He wants to sleep in David's room but not in David's bed, so a toddler bed at the foot of David's was the best compromise.  The idea of sleeping apart upsets them both.  David is a scaredy cat and Ryan likes the company and therefore, sharing a room has been perfect for the two.

Now that we are listing our house for sale, we took the toddler bed out to make the room appear larger.  Ryan cried and we consoled, but we had to do it.  Meanwhile, we are having bed issues with Adam.  Mainly, he jumps out of his bed at will.  That means battles at nap time and war at bedtime. 

I am startled in the morning when he wakes up and walks in to wherever we are and says, "hi-morning."  (and as a side note, I used to say "hi-lo").  I am still used to having to get him out of his bed.  The baby bed days are drawing near, after eight years with one up, I am not sure if I can stand it down.

Here is a picture of my brother and Brandon putting the bed together.  It was like an Aggie joke, how many does it take?

And what's even funnier is that after what seemed like an eternity to construct, we had to tear down and rebuild because it would not fit through the baby room door.  Oh, the memories!

Toss

Up until recently, the boys throwing a baseball in the yard usually resulted in a squabble.  David would get mad because Ryan would quit too soon, or Ryan would get mad because David threw too hard.  But now we have finally arrived - a no tear game of toss.

And speaking of yards, we officially have a sign in ours.  We are closing on the new house in less than two weeks. 

Fourth Fun

We had a great Fourth of July weekend at the lake.  The boys loved being in the water from sun up until sun down. 

And true to Ryan form, he fished as much as possible.

Adam loved "hunting" with his brothers.  We kept telling him "fishing" but he insisted he was "hunting."

Adam went tubing with Daddy for the first time.  He laughed nearly the whole time!  And David made a mental note he only had 50 something days left of summer.  We aim to make the most of them!

Whirlwind Week

Really last week was about as busy as one family could be!  We spent our days at Kids Kamp where we rocked it out all week!  I served as David's small group leader and led 13 second graders all week.  It always proves to be an amazing experience and I receive so much from serving.  The Kids Kamp music ignites and energizes and it's a blast to praise God in the sanctuary with literally 1,000 children.  All three boys had a great time with friends and I am already looking forward to next year!

Add to our week, two baseball tournaments.  David played great and had two double plays in one game and received the game ball for his efforts.  Unfortunately, his team got knocked out of the tournament by Wednesday.  Ryan's team progressed and played until Saturday for the championship.  His team was terrific, but came up short on Saturday.

Then, add to that, putting a contract on a new house.  If the house appraises, we are in!  It's a house that has amazing potential and I can see us living there.  The backyard is what sold us!
