Ryan told me last week he made a new friend at the park. He told me he would never forget his new friend. I asked him what his name was and he said he forgot, so he told me he called him dude.
And on another note, silly string for $1 at the dollar store provides priceless entertainment for boys.

Three Boys in a Tub
Boys are dirty little creatures evidenced by the ring left around my bathtub after all three took a bath.

Spring Has Sprung
Who can remember last week snow day with weather like this? Ryan said it was a sunscreen day! So yesterday, I seized the opportunity to take Ryan and Adam to the zoo.
It was a day right out of the movie "Bambi" at the zoo. You know the scene where it's been winter for so long and then spring comes around and all the flowers are in bloom and the boy and girl animals are taking note of each other. No kidding, that's what we witnessed.
First, the goldfish.
Here is the beautiful lioness, feeling a little lonely.
She decides to get up.
She nudges, but no luck waking the lion.
Then, she decides to nestle in beside him.
She talks to him and paws him.
She's feeling frustrated because he is still fast asleep.
She thinks to herself, this guy is a dud.
Don't think the macaws don't have feelings.
And by the time we got to the penguins, it was beginning to get hilarious.
Okay, can you stand it? The flamingos were feeling frisky too!
In all the times I have been to the zoo, never have I seen so much action!

Bold Predictions
David had his first baseball try out on Sunday afternoon. He is playing in the 7-8 year old league at University Little League. At this point, we don't know which team drafted him, but we should find out next week. Ryan said that God told him he was going to play first base for the Cubs. How is that for prophecy?
And then David made some bold predictions of his own for the future:
1. Dinosaurs come back
2. Aliens will visit
3. Peace on earth
4. Travel by horse

Valentine's Day 2011
Melting
Note to self, always check what might be inside the oven before preheating. Unbeknownst to me, Adam was "cooking" some cups and unfortunately, plastic melts and stinks when baked in my oven.

Say It Isn't Snow!
Okay, I really do love being home with the boys, but we have had one too many snow days. Yesterday was a little rough and David said I was being mean. Sorry, perhaps I was.
But unlike me, Ryan was sweet. He was worried about the birds outside and if they were warm and had enough birdseed.
But the day ended well with a fierce game of marbles and a warm fire!
