Done in a Day

Yesterday was one of those days.  Crazy busy and very scheduled.  All except the last hour of the day, when I never would have thunk it!

First, it was Ryan's last day of McKinney.  Horray!  Thank you to Mrs. Nikki and Mrs. Kristen for being great teachers!

Then you know it's baseball around here.  The Rangers won the consolation bracket and all the players received a medal.  

 A great win for the boys!  Thank you Coach Eargle, Yates and St. Peters!

Then it's off to the Thursday Boy picnic.  Ryan has been looking forward to the picnic for weeks!

Ryan and David both received awards at the picnic.  And the sweetest part, Adam received one too - his first!  Thank you Mr. Redwine!

Now for the part I could not have predicted.  When we arrived home around 9:30 pm there was a sweet dog waiting for us in our front yard.  She appeared to be homeless and hungry.  We fed her a french fry and wouldn't you know, she hasn't left.  

We are thinking of girl dog names....

Wedding Crashers

This past weekend, David was a ring bearer in a wedding for the fourth time.  He is a self proclaimed professional!  This was the wedding of Cherise and Nick Myatt (Brandon's cousin).  Mind you, it was a crazy Saturday, we had two baseball games in the afternoon and then drove to Waco just in time to clean up and change for the big night.

And here we are!  Someone told me that we graduated high school eighteen years ago to the date.  Sakes alive!

The Green Monster

The Green Monster has been conquered.  Ryan sailed one over the top of center field fence for a grand slam this Saturday during the most exciting Pee Wee game ever!  The only way the Pirates stood a chance for victory was a grand slam.  It was remarkable, no kid has hit one over the wall all season until now.  Sadly, the Pirates lost the game to to the Cardinals, but it was so close!

 Ryan was disappointed because he really wanted a first place trophy.  Sweet buddy, there will be plenty more games and trophies in your life!

And to top it off, he was awarded most athletic today during his kindergarten program at McKinney.

Smell the Air

The other night at the ballpark, I was tending to Adam, wiping his mouth and hands from the blow pop that made its way all over him.  I noticed a man in his early fifties looking at us and smiling.  I thought maybe he was a relative of somebody on our team coming to watch the game.  I went about chasing Adam when I caught his eye again.  He said, "I know you, we live in the neighborhood and I have seen your boys playing ball in the front yard many times while I am walking my dog."  He later went on to say he was president of University Little League back in the early nineties when his children played ball.  In the few moments he was there, he witnessed Colton hit one over the fence and the cheering of the boys on our team as he rounded home.  Knowing how fast time flies and how great these moments are missed, I suppose he likes to drop by the fields from time to time.  I too will miss this and someday want to stop by the ballpark and smell the air.

Nearing the End

I can tell by David's work, school is nearing the end.  He is tired of the same old assignments and is getting a tad too big for his britches.  That, or I have a serial killer in the making. 

Calm After the Storm

This week, we have had rain!  And the other night, the sky turned eerry green, the calm after the storm.  But, around here, that just means mud!

Frogs Play Ball

Ryan celebrated his 6th birthday at the TCU baseball ball park last night.  TCU played Baylor.

It was a great night to be a six year old boy!
